Why Laser Surgery?
One major benefit of laser is that there is minimal to no bleeding when most incisions are made. This provides both a very clean surgical field as well reduced blood loss to the patient. This results in additional benefits that are particularly obvious with the feline declaw procedure. Since there is minimal, if any bleeding, the need for tourniquets is completely eliminated as well as post-operative bandages (and we all know how much cats love bandages!). When laser is utilized for this surgical proceedure the need for pain medication is substantially reduced. Our patients are typically up walking, playing and eating within minutes of recovery from anesthesia.
What Does This Mean For My Cat?
Since no tourniquets or bandaging are required there is no chance of complications arising from the use of either...this also means that your kitty will be more comfortable as he or she wakes up from the anesthesia (no re-profusion pain and no uncomfortable bandages).
Which Procedures Are Performed With A Laser?
